I can sort of see the logic at play here. It’s shaky, mind, and full of holes, but he almost had a coherent thought.

It’s False Equivalency, I’m fully aware, so I get that he’s wrong, just that I can understand why he might think that.

I feel so safe for kids surrounded by good conservative Christians with high morale values thanks to their faith as opposed to fellow atheists who have nothing to stop them from abusing, raping and killing children!

They signal almost day they signal how much their faith make them better people!

PS: Before the shitstorm, of course I don’t assume Christians are bad people by default. It’s just the ones who talk the most about how they have values and anyone who’s not them doesn’t seem to also be the ones who have the least.

That was Greta’s ENTIRE POINT THOUGH! That the younger generation shouldn’t need to be the ones to come up with the policies to fix the shit the older generations did!

Since the post is quite moldy I think greta thunberg was 16 at the time of writing. I hope this pedo apologist has changed his ways by now, or gone to hell.

To be fair kids these days are looking older and younger at the same time. My fiance’s daughter is 18 and looks like she’s 14. My sister’s son is 16 and looks like he’s 25 due to his facial hair. I’ve always hated the “you can always tell” mindset because demonstrably no you cannot.

A fly in the logical argument is that with increases in available nutrition vis-a-vis caloric density of available food, it’s skewing the onset of puberty toward younger children. 18 used to be the cutoff because that’s when puberty was most likely to start, on average. It was never really about emotional maturity, at least until recently (AND A GOOD CHANGE IT WAS!). Puberty is a body mass coded trigger, not so much an age related one. I think I heard of one medical case where a girl who was only 8 years old had begun puberty because she had gained so much weight by that point. An outlier, for sure, but the point still stands. I’d say these sickos need to learn some basic self regulation, but then again we are talking about group of people who have outsourced their morality to an imaginary metaphysical “presence” in the sky. Personal accountability was never really a strong compass in their lives, clearly.

There’s a lot of talk of that in the book they’re always misquoting. Selective hearing/reading, perhaps.

That dude is one of those conservatives that doesn’t fuck kids for the sole reason that it’s illegal. These people shouldn’t be allowed to exist.
