I hate that those bullies we all grew up with are the ones in power, not just politically and economically, but also culturally. It makes me sick to my stomach that evil has taken over.
Has taken over?
Has always been in power. Ever since there was such a thing as power. Centralized power attracts and fosters evil. Always has, always will.
The only way to mitigate it is to decentralize power as much as possible.
You (generally) do not gain positions of power by being good person. There is a reason why most politicians come from a wealthy background.
