When Graham appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program afterward, she attempted to recover by pivoting from her lack of national security knowledge to transgender athletes, as The Advocate reported.

“Of course, Taiwan is our friend,” Graham said. “But I think people in South Carolina are more worried about making ends meet. They are concerned about boys in girls’ sports.”

Trump continued that strategy Friday by making transgender people a central part of his argument for Graham. He attacked Andrews as a “far-left political hack who supports transgender for everybody” and accused her of telling “confused children they’re trapped in the wrong body.”

Trump may have conflated those medical procedures with agreements his Justice Department has forced on two major hospital systems. Those settlements require Texas Children’s Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic to establish or fund services for people who voluntarily seek to detransition. They do not order hospitals to perform surgery on anyone.

In May, Texas Children’s agreed to pay the state $10 million, end gender-affirming care for minors and establish what federal officials called the country’s first “restorative care” clinic for detransitioners. The Houston hospital also agreed to terminate five physicians connected to its transgender health program and permanently revoke their privileges, as The Advocate reported.

Are people in South Carolina worried about making ends meet or are they worried about whether somebody playing in girls’ high school sports has a penis? These are two completely different things, and where are the people worried about “girls” playing in boys’ sports?

where are the people worried about “girls” playing in boys’ sports?

There are lots and lots of them because they have been indoctrinated to be worried about it. They are fucking reprogrammable meatbags. They lost the cultural war over gay marriage, and ever since then have pivoted to attacking trans, as instructed by their thought leaders. That’s why the bathroom bills got going around 10 years ago or so - they lost the gay marriage thing in 2015.

You would not believe the kind of stupid shit you’ll see on social media when it comes to a “conversation” around donnie’s shithole administration going after Jefferson County school district here in Colorado, for instance.

      https://www.denverpost.com/2026/07/28/jeffco-public-schools-legal-action-trump-administration-transgender-athletes/

You’ll see brainless chuds saying things about how they are “paying for others’ ideology”. And they are right but not the way they think they are. We in Jeffco are going to pay for the ideology of the far right. It’s about ideology, all right - THEIRS.

They are all beside themselves over “men in women’s sports” and so we may lose $50 million in school funding due to their uninformed, backward and batshit insanity.

I agree with your points but I think you missed the one you replied to: as you said, the idiots are enraged over “men in women’s sports” but their point was those same people don’t say anything about “women in men’s sports” because trans men go completely under their radar.

In fact a group of bearded and burly trans men did a protest the other day by following the law in their state and using women’s bathrooms. At one point they were confronted by police and had an uncomfortable conversation about what their genitals and DNA were. But they were not arrested because the law in that state says they must use the bathroom of their birth sex. Brought the stupidity of the law face to face with a lot of ignorant people.

          Oh, fuuck. /smacks forehead.

          D’oh!

Oh, well, anyway…LOL. Yeah, the conservatives seem to be mostly fixated on trans females vs. trans males, just like they are focused mostly on gay men vs. lesbians…

Wait, you really don’t know why people would care about “men in women’s sports” but not “women in men’s sports”?

You’re going to say it’s because of physical advantage? Which has been shown to be negligible in trans women who have been on hormones for a length of time, when compared to the variations in physical attributes already present among cis female people (and not even taking into account intersex people who were "corrected " to female at birth). And which doesn’t even apply in a number of sports. For instance in shooting and biathlon events being female can be an advantage (at least by averages, there again individuals differ widely within the sexes) so a trans man could theoretically dominate if the hormones don’t change that too much. Or maybe we’re talking about how compliance to societal standards has always been more strictly enforced for women, even in the definition of being a woman, and how they’re perceived as needing protection and separation but/therefore not compensation for their athletic performance.

Try thinking about this: a trans woman who competes as a woman has little to gain because women’s sports aren’t sufficiently appreciated. If she were willing to deny her identity and compete in men’s tourneys she would be up against bigger stronger men, as would any man of her build, and rank lower, but she’d probably have better pay and equipment and facilities regardless. She’d also still probably get similar abuse from transhaters, because she’s a target for their misogyny that gets them in less trouble than beating up on “real” women (although they likely do that too).

Trans men are more able to “pass” in society because our expectations about the diverse appearance of men is so much greater. And if a trans man athlete competes and takes a spot from a less-athletic cis man, is society going to support his protest or say he’s just a whining wimp? That’s an attitude rooted in misogyny as well, by the way. Weak equals female equals unworthy.

High school sports don’t require any sort of hormones. Most sports don’t have official hormone-length schedules. But no, the advantage is not “negligible”. Height, limb length, joint size, heart and lung size, etc. are all fixed features. There minimal overlap between these aspects between men and women. A 5"10" person is average height for a male, but in the top range for females.

Longitudinal studies examining the effects of testosterone suppression on muscle mass and strength in transgender women consistently show very modest changes, where the loss of lean body mass, muscle area and strength typically amounts to approximately 5% after 12 months of treatment. Thus, the muscular advantage enjoyed by transgender women is only minimally reduced when testosterone is suppressed. Sports organizations should consider this evidence when reassessing current policies regarding participation of transgender women in the female category of sport. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40279-020-01389-3

And yes, certain “intersex” males should also not be competing in female sports.

because women’s sports aren’t sufficiently appreciated. Yep, the old argument: It doesn’t matter because women’s sports (i.e. women) aren’t important. The feelings of a ______ outrank the fairness in competition of a woman. Look at Veronica Ivy, who decided to take up cycling, dominated it, and casually turned to golf, and is now dominating it. So why isn’t Veronica Ivy choosing not to make all that money playing against men?

And as far as I see, women who don’t identify as women are still primarily choosing to play in women’s sports.

“women who don’t identify as women” tells me a lot about your bias against trans people in general.

If Veronica Ivy chose to testosterone out and play as a man the profits would be considerably higher, even at a lower rank.

Most trans women who play in women’s sports do so because it’s the only way they can play without denying their essential identity.

Women’s sports are important. Women are important. Trans women are women.

They also banned boys playing in girls sports a few years back, so for South Carolinians this is a totally fabricated state issue.
