Will the Untied States be penalized for their willful negligence in letting a nazi felon get control of the country?

Even though this is just another tax on Americans, it’s time for Canada to stop sending fire assistance to the US. I live in BC and we deal with smoke coming from Washington State every summer.

As a Washingtonian, I’m disappointed that you don’t share allegiance to our region the way so many of us do. British Columbia means more to many of us than some random American state elsewhere does. Not many of us would be in favor of dropping support of and cooperation with British Columbia even if the Canadian government was being belligerent.

      Neighbors come first.

Also, we get your smoke every summer as well. That’s part of why we’re in this together.

I hate that Trump is using this as a political attack but I’d be pretty bummed out if we stopped helping people in need.

What percentage of carbon emissions does the US account for? Half?

They can fuck off, we helped with their fires, their fires sent smoke here, I’m done with these fucks.

12-14% today, and roughly 25% all time.

That’s 10 times as much as Canada, to or it in perspective. Per capita, however, US and Canada are roughly equal. I won’t say who leads. I’m also not sure per capita matters when the environment doesn’t care.

I’d like to say that the US military is completely unaccounted for in any emissions statistic

If only Canada had diligently raked all their forests - as Donnie recommended to California years ago - none of these wildfires would have occurred in the first place! /s

“Wilful” is diametrically different from “negligence”. Where wilful shows intent, negligence shows accident.

That’s not right. Negligence doesn’t have to be accidental, it just means neglect. That can be a neglect of responsibilities or a duty that you willfully choose to ignore. None of that has anything to do with this situation, but you’re wrong about your interpretation of the words and willfull negligence absolutely is a thing. A parent that sits and watches TV or plays video games while their kid is screaming in the next room(about something that requires adult intervention) is making an active and willful choice to neglect their child. Or oil companies that were aware of the consequences of carbon emissions and chose not to action any action except to deceive the public about it.
