  • That’s not right. Negligence doesn’t have to be accidental, it just means neglect. That can be a neglect of responsibilities or a duty that you willfully choose to ignore. None of that has anything to do with this situation, but you’re wrong about your interpretation of the words and willfull negligence absolutely is a thing. A parent that sits and watches TV or plays video games while their kid is screaming in the next room(about something that requires adult intervention) is making an active and willful choice to neglect their child. Or oil companies that were aware of the consequences of carbon emissions and chose not to action any action except to deceive the public about it.

  • If there’s not enough good or wholesome things that actually exist to create posts about then that’s a big fucking problem with the world. But making shit up just to make yourself or other people feel better is absolutely not the answer. Your comment basically asks “is it bad to gaslight people about the state of the world, or is it actually okay because things are really so bad, and so we should get mad at the people pointing out the gaslighting?”

  • Fair distribution is when the guys who inherited all their money, never had an original idea, continually tank all their companies and default on loans, and only know how to compete via monopolies and total market capture get all the proceeds and decide how every decision is made. Obviously. How else would they have all that money if they didn’t deserve it?

  • And if those benefits were provided to everyone, they’d have an even harder time. The people who want to cut social spending are the same ones who want to spend trillions on useless wars, and they need people to be desperate enough to sign up to be cannon fodder for the billionaire war mongers to make money off of.

  • I mean, I get where you’re coming from with the forced updates, but I still use steam to launch all my DRM free games on the steamdeck. It’s just way easier and gives access to the steaminput settings and overlay for way better controller configuration. I just add everything as a non-steam app, then there’s no forced updates or anything like that, steam just serves as a launcher and interface for proton.
