For those not from here, this hits home because the most patriotic Americans are exactly like this.
When we see flags hanging from homes and trucks these days, we assume the worst. It’s been like this off and on since 9/11 but the last decade has been particularly rough and polarized.
I see a lot of black and brown players from majority white countries during FIFA. I wonder how much racism they deal with when off the pitch.
