Because Trump doesn’t give a single fuck about reality or anything he does impacting anyone else. He literally does not think about nor care about impacts to anyone but himself, period.

    Add it to the pile.

You are right. I’m so exhausted seeing all these news articles question why trump would do that to workers when in reality he’s literally the biggest narcissist that gets the most attention.

Member when the oil and gas companies promised to give him a billion dollars if he won?

    Yeah.

The link OP posted under the main article link references that, just a slight correction: it was Trump asking for a billion for his campaign from the oil companies and then he’d be “their guy” if he won.

Here in New England we have higher electric rates than most of the country (except of course California) because of shit like this. We’ve been counting on power generation from these new wind farms and they’re already years late. We can’t afford to lose any of them. Insufficient power == higher rates

Looking forward to my $200+/month electric bill this summer in NY… Last year was $150.

That’s not for a house btw. It’s a single piece of shit garage “apartment” with one window unit a/c.

Luckily my utility’s website is down so I can’t check current usage. However last month was $240, and this past month has been much hotter

As a South Australian, where we have some of the highest solar, wind farm and battery uptakes in the world, and also some of the highest electricity rates too I will just let you know that no, you wouldn’t have been getting cheaper electricity even after it was built. Your usage will just go up to match supply.

Much like building roads only leads to more vehicles on the road.

The best you’d get is a temporary rebate. And cleaner electricity - that’s the real win, not the the lower prices. It’s more of an environmental project rather than a price pressure project, so you have cleaner air at least, which is worth the cost imo but ymmv.

Our usage is going up. They’re still pushing EVs and heat pumps. The problem is demand has been going up faster than supply, leading to higher prices

But even before that, shutting down the last coal power plant was well timed to when were were supposed to have wind farms online. Then they were delayed. I can only assume we import more from neighboring states, which is never cheap

A lot of people have told Trump that he’s good at breaking wind and so he’s just running with it since he gets so little genuine praise.

Remember when Ba’al kept killing and torturing O’Neal to death, then resurrecting him only to do it all over and over and over again? Where can we get one of those sarcophagi?
