Here’s what you tell your friends: Crockett would have won the primary any other year, but this was the year that a once-in-lifetime candidate like Talarico emerged. She had bad timing, it happens all the time. He’ll probably go on to win, which will be amazing. The governor’s seat may go to a Dem, too. It hasn’t been an easy path for Talarico, and it would have even an even less easy path to victory for Crockett.
Cruz will be running for re-election in 2030, and after Talarico has been in there for a while and showing what Dems can do, Crockett will have an easier chance at beating Cruz.
As politicians go, Crockett is considered young, and has a long career ahead of her. She can wait to beat Cruz in 2030, and she’ll have a stronger chance at it by then.
It’s disappointing that she won’t get her chance this time, but politics is a long, slow grind, and you have to be patient. Your friends have to take heart that by voting for Talarico, they are pushing the country in a better direction for future candidates like Crockett.
If none of that works, don’t let your friends vote for Paxton, he will literally murder them if he gets the chance. Better they don’t vote at all.

Likewise you would have seen that I post all news relating to trans people, that includes all the shit Trump and republicans are doing, Moms for Liberty, as well as Labor in the UK, JK Rowlings anti-trans agenda, conservatives in Canada complaining about rainbow paint on the ground, right wing politicians in Australia pushing anti-trans rights bills. Articles from continental Europe to South America or Asia. Oh and the few posts I am able to make where I highlight positive things the Democrats are doing for trans people.
