People with temporary legal status receive a temporary SSN, so if they overstay their work visa and become illegal, they also lose that SSN.
Your manager could easily google these things, and the fact that he confidently spouts bullshit without even bothering to ask AI to verify first says a lot about him both as a manager and as a human being.
