Pointing out that you’re an idiot in the course of also attacking your argument (even doing so rudely) isn’t “as hominem”.
Ad hominem is when you don’t engage with the argument at all, you dismiss it based on the person making it. It doesn’t even have to be rude or insulting. Dennis Leary’s old joke about not believing a Priest teaching sex ed at a Catholic school is an ad hominem.
