Sen. Mitch McConnell returned to Capitol Hill on Monday for the first time after a three-month absence due to health issues.

He was seen leaving his home in a wheelchair en route to the Capitol.

“Today, I’ll cast my first Senate vote since I took a bad fall back in June. I’m really looking forward to being back on the Senate floor and seeing my colleagues,” the GOP senator from Kentucky said in a statement.

Somehow, this coming back like nothing ever happened and everything is fine, business as usual act pisses me off SO much more than him being gone for three months without a fucking word.

The level of entitled contempt this shows for his constituents, his state, and his governor is beyond anything I have ever seen from a US Senator before in my life.

I am literally furious. He should have fucking STAYED GONE.

You know those cognitive tests that Trump’s really proud of? Can we do ol Mitch? Really like to see where we’d land on that.

Some news sites and live streamers jumped the gun hoping to make the headlines about his absence. They were obviously not in the loop and not paying attention.

that was to keep anyone from getting eyes on the actual mitch, while the clone took over at the senate.

Rawstory is a clickbait trash rag. I always cross-check their headlines with more legitimate sources. I’d ban their links altogether from Lemmy if it were up to me; half of their “stories” are either exaggerated, taken out of context, or based on something shat out by some random Xitter user.

He was “seen leaving his home”, are they sure it was him? He “returned to Capitol Hill” but did anyone see him? He only put out a written statement.

    Something’s still fishy.

took them 3 months to find a suitable doppleganger.

I’m not one for conspiracy theories but man…with this current timeline THAT honestly would NOT surprise me.

it also would NOT surprise if after this stint, in say like a couple days he finally “dies”.

I’ve been waiting for someone to mention that, lol.

I honestly and unironically believe the current administration has a “Dave” plan for what they’re going to do when the time comes for the orange chancre. There are NO limits for them, and they are not just going to leave quietly because the orange excrescence finally shuffles off his decrepit mortal coil.

Crazier shit have happened. Being exposed to so many people right after recovering from something catastrophic and being in an isolated environment can often lead to even more severe illnesses. Usually death.
