When I listen to someone’s playlist and it’s really different and kinda weird: Whoa, neat!
When I listen to someone’s playlist and it’s basically just a subgenre of easy listening: 🙄 “could this person get any more boring?”
When I listen to someone’s playlist and it’s all songs from when they were younger: “They’re trapped in the past. Could never handle immortality.” (Nods assuredly)
“Checkout this new country playlist I made…”

Sorry to the country lovers but this is the right answer
As someone who grew up on country, you are perfectly valid in tossing about 95% of newer songs.
It’s a shame because there’s a lot of great southern rock out there thats would be better labeled country to give it a good name again.
It’s ok. They can’t read.
I’m joking of course. There’s some kick-arse country around.
Yes! I love this kind music. I tend to call it southern or goth rock when I come across stuff like this… So I do like country then haha
I grew an inflated opinion of my music knowledge after building a curated catalogue over the last five years as I really got into music for the first time in a long time.
Recently, I recommended a song or two to several people I know when music came up, based off of tracks that they told me they loved. All of them shut it off within a few seconds with a “I don’t like this.” I’ve never judged a song that quickly, maybe they know something I don’t.
Now I just don’t bother, and I have to assume that everyone’s tastes are like a minefield.
Lots of people are so closed off to anything new. Like literally there’s a meme about how most people’s music tastes are set in their high school era and that’s so sad to me. I especially like a lot of songs and artists that defy easy classification, straddle multiple genres, or will kind of mash up different styles in a single song. I like artists that are willing to push a boundary and expand on the idea of what a ‘song’ entails. So if I recommend a song to someone and they don’t even listen past the damn intro, that’s the last time I’m taking anything that person says seriously.
One time at work someone had the idea of “let’s all swap our favorite playlists”. No one was happy. I got some like top of the charts rap that’s not my jam. The product lady got my sludgy doom metal and I don’t think she made it through one track. I think the mega kpop fan just refused to participate.
Tame who? Snow what? Radio where?
Tame patrol, snow head, radio impala. Did I do it right?
This is me with some of the stuff on my old radio mixtapes.
