I don’t and won’t play games with in-game ads. No matter how good they apparently are otherwise, I’ll never know.

I know it’s available, but it doesn’t pop up on its own unless you’re loading multiple files.
I don’t remember VLC’s playlist showing up at all unless you open multiple files at once
I’ve never had any luck with Lutris, it was always troublesome to get things working for me, but tbf I haven’t used it in a while,
If itch is something you care about, you may want to stick with what you’re used to, as Heroic doesn’t do itch natively.
Heroic lets you log in on your GOG, Epic, and Amazon accounts and then can install your games directly from your library and sets up Proton like on Steam. It’s not 100% as user-friendly, but it’s pretty effective.

That’s why I always set my presence to offline. Nobody needs to know what I’m playing right this moment.
Heroic launcher pretty much does the same for GOG games. Sad that it needs a third-party launcher, but it works quite well.

Failure to protect a trademark can cause the trademark to become genericized. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t apply to everything. Velcro fights hard for people to call their product “hook and loop fasteners” because they don’t want other companies to sell their products as Velcro, and it’s also why Nintendo was fighting for people to stop calling other consoles Nintendos in the 80’s and 90’s.
I don’t think you can genericize Mega Man, for example. Nobody’s going to call other types of games Mega Mans. In this case, it’s a copyright infringement, whether sanctioned or not. They’re not going to lose their trademark over Mega Man for this.

It always is. Even if you’re actually calling for help, you need to basically trick them into helping you these days.

Determined in civil court, which requires less than “beyond a reasonable doubt” that criminal court does. However it has been determined that Carroll claiming he raped her is not slander. So while he wouldn’t be behind bars for it, he definitely deserves to be, for that and many other reasons.

By the time the PS1 came out, lots of people already had CD players though. They weren’t cheap, but they weren’t crazy expensive either. DVD and Blu-Ray were in their infancy as the consoles were released, and they were the cheapest options available for playing them.
That’s a pretty big boost for console ownership.

PS2 was a cheap DVD player, PS3 was a cheap Blu-Ray player, but your point stands.

Boycotting serves no purpose if it’s a product you weren’t goimg to buy anyway.
It’s not that crazy, most of the country speaks French.
Can you explain how you would cool computers in space?
One guy got a red card and was basically kicked out of the event, and Trump called the FIFA guy and got him reinstated, then he bragged about doing it like it was a positive.
But how many of them are upset at Canada?
