So does iOS, but it’s ‘bad’ to be walled garden there, but ‘good’ to be walled garden here.

Instead of this policing of devices and connections, why don’t they just print names on tickets and require photo ID at the gate?
Same as concerts do to prevent scalping.

Meanwhile mobile games keep getting better and better looking, all whilst using MSAA since it’s super cheap.
PC/Console devs need to completely throw away the idea of deferred rendering.

They did those things, and also gave early 3DS owners a bunch of free games for buying the console during a bad period.
Nintendo are fickle, but this seems like the type of PR thing they’d of been in to.

I agree that there is a clear legal distinction, but it leaves a sour taste. Nintendo should have made this right for PR.
Though, on the other side of it, Stargate project is the reason DRAM prices went to the moon, so USA suffering a little is schadenfreude for me and probably Nintendo too.
Just be aware, mpv still doesn’t properly do replaygain.
mpv, it just fits me better, I don’t really do playlists for videos outside of the TV, where I’ve got kodi.
I launch many videos from the terminal, since sometimes big AV1 videos need my big GPU (DRI_PRIME)

Also Valve is a very different animal to Sony.
Steam has removed (not delisted from the store, removed from the libraries of people that owned the game) less than 40 games since inception. Excluding F2P games, Valve has mostly refunded people where a game is outright removed.
Sony has closed 4 music stores in the same period, with no recourse for purchases. They’ve removed tens of thousands of movies from PlayStation accounts over the same period, these were ‘purchased’ and then just removed for licensing reasons.
Valve has a level of trust they earned and why Digital only isn’t as much of a problem there, now. It was during the opening years becuase Valve had not earned that trust yet.
Sony has burned people so many times I just consider them not trustworthy in general. any ‘purchase’ on any Sony service is just a 2-3 year lease imo.
It diverged.
The full on racists went mask off.
Those who just want to keep wages up for a reasonable life realised it isn’t really immigration or any race ‘taking their jobs’ but a capitalist plot to suppress wages further.
They put the foot down.
Nintendo looking outside Nintendo’s walls
Unlikely.

With extreme amounts of effort you can do small things.
Modding gamebryo/creation is as easy as loading xedit and playing around.

FNV is on Gamebryo.
I’m making the assumption that the new Obsidian Fallout will be on Unreal like Obsidians modern games.

Hooray!
but creation
I’m ecstatic, other engines just aren’t moddable like creation, this is GREAT news.
Also they need to implement proper Xbox One/Xbox Series controller support.
ATM it just falls back to a 360 controller, which doesn’t have support for the impulse triggers Xbox One/Series controllers have.

Can’t just load up xedit and make a 30 second mod for Unreal, you’ve got to have the source code for the game, a full version of unreal editor and around 500 hours to rebake everything for a tiny change.

mods help with that
I hope you’re not expecting to mod the Obsidian game…
The AI is actually really good, but nerfed to hell by default, even on survival.
If you use GCM to set search times to 60s and ‘forgetfulness’ (can’t remember the actual variable right now) to ~5 mins, they’re tough. They don’t just give up and go back to doing what they’re doing and you need to keep moving since they can (*but won’t always) locate gunshots by sound and will start moving to your last firing location.
