The US does have this law. It’s just not enacted yet because there’s so much they’re demanding in the law and automakers say it’s not possible. But it doesn’t force someone who doesn’t drive to drive.

I’ve literally clicked the button for proton and that’s it. You seem like you’re just trying to invent reasons to hate Linux. Have you even used it in the last 10 years? Because everything you’re saying isn’t a thing anymore.

I mean most of the games I’ve run in the past few months I couldn’t run at all 3 years ago which was my last attempt at Linux. And all my searching last time basically came up with other people having the same question as me and the answers always being “someday…” Well, someday is here because I’ve had no issues this go with Linux. I’ve literally never gone so long without windows until this install of mint.

I’m the words of Bender Bending Rodriguez, “have you ever considered sitting down with your kids, turning off the TV (phone) and hitting them?”
But in seriousness we should be having conversations with kids. We shouldn’t be handing them a tablet or phone at 2 years old. We obviously can’t control kids, they have their own decisions to make but, we shouldn’t be shoving the internet down their throats the first day they’re born then being shocked they spend all their time on the internet.

I just made the full switch from windows to Linux Mint a few weeks ago after one of the many windows bugs hit me and I lost all my files. I’m not a huge gamer but I game.
So far I’ve only run into one issue and I think that has more to do with the program being 25 years old than it being a Linux issue lol. Everything modern has just worked with no crazy steps to take ahead of time. Granted I don’t play any games that have anti cheat built in so I can’t say anything about that.
Edit, It may help you to know what games I’ve tried so far. I’m only 3 weeks in so not many lol. Sims 2 (one of the programs for it is what’s giving me an issue not the game itself), Stardew Valley, Grounded, Grounded 2 and, I’ve loaded Ark but I haven’t played it. I have the EMERGENCY! Series in my library as well as Alice Madness Returns but, I have not installed them yet. I have several other games I’ll eventually get around to installing but, I go in waves of what games I play.

I just moved all my gaming from Xbox to steam. Since most of my gaming is PC these days and I just switched to Linux, steam is the clear choice.

That makes sense. I’m still new to all this so I’m kinda learning as I go.

I’m not exactly playing anything new but I’ve been playing Grounded (the first one) on Window for like 2 months. My computer was so hot it was warming up my entire room.
I switched to Linux due to other Microsoft issues and decided to give it another shot. Man, my computer doesn’t really get warm at all. Like yeah I can see the temp monitor change a little bit but not much. There’s no hot air pouring out of my PC. I’m not sweating sitting next to it.
I’ve made no changes to any game settings (other than using proton) or hardware changes. It’s an insane difference.

I tried Kagi for a month. Several times I got “we couldn’t find what you were looking for” and the limit of 300 searches a month, even if I’m not going to hit that I FELT limited. I wanted to like it but it’s not for me.
I had no idea how easy gaming had got since my last attempt with Linux. That was until the most recent Microsoft bugs erased all my files… I was so enraged I didn’t even try to recover them, I just installed linux mint. Found out I could indeed play the couple games I’ve been holding on to windows for. Haven’t booted windows since.
