“Kaum” ist auch in meiner Erfahrung übertrieben. Wohne zwar nicht mehr in Deutschland, habe aber in 3 mittelgroßen Städten gewohnt, während dem Studium in 2 Städten viele Wohnungen meiner Freunde gesehen. Ich kann mich an keine einzige erinnern die von Anfang an keine Küche hatte.

On the one hand people in Japan seem to be more concerned about not getting others (or themselves) sick, seeing as they constantly wear face masks (already pre-pandemic), on the other hand the work culture seems more cut-throat so they may have more pressure to come in even while sick, not sure.

Controversial opinion and I say that as someone who started with Jellyfin and keeps that local Wifi only, so I admit a certain bias: going with Tailscale and Jellyfin over using Plex isn’t much better. Instead of enabling remote access via one company that wants to make money, you go via another company that wants to make money. How long is the free tier of Tailscale going to work out? How much do you trust them with your traffic? But I know it is a popular setup, so I am aware saying that here will not earn me any points.
I feel for the first reason! I was able to switch with my wife from Whatsapp to Signal but thats about as much as is possible. And we both have to still use Whatsapp because of others.
