I don’t know what you’ve been saying but what these guys are talking about isn’t what I consider a serious concern. It’s more of the “oh this is going to be so massive, it will transform everything” warn-bragging they’ve been doing from the jump.
Recall that Rod Blagojevich got in serious trouble because he basically offered to sell Obama’s senate seat.
Now make it retroactive.
The most moving tributes have been from the rent boys he paid to absolutely rail his ass.
China seems to have positive and negative characteristics. For the non-rich it seems slightly better than the US and worse than (say) Norway. They’re still imperialist although they seem more inclined to use soft power and economic relationships rather than warfare.
But it would be very unusual for someone to speak their dying words in something other than their native language.

He’s right, the people he’s talking about work WAY FUCKING HARDER THAN HE EVER HAS.
Radiators work because they have something to radiate heat into. Space is famously empty, so a radiator the size of a planet would only work as a heat sink until the total heat in the system was high enough to make everything glow like a heating element, at which point you dump waste energy as visible light.
This is what I’ve been tearing my hair out over any time this comes up. If you put a computer in space it will heat up until it achieves incandescence. Which is bad for the performance.
I appreciate the perspective. I knew the Chinese government was not allied with Vietnam but I didn’t know about the killings. And your point about the difference between non-rich in rural areas vs urban areas is true in the US as well. In fact, there was a UN delegation that reported finding some of the most extreme poverty in the world in places like rural West Virginia.
