He is happy seeing Ukrainians die killing Russians vs him seeing Americans die. He also loves that Ukraine’s and the EU’s military spending was keeping his portfolio happy. Your tax dollars entering his pocket via defense spending = consistent support from him

No problem. USDS wasn’t always about ‘efficiency’ and used to be a way for digital services to be made. For example, if Medicare for All were to happen, who makes the web dashboard for every American to log into? Before doge was a thing, it would have been USDS. Hopefully Trump doesn’t kill the office is what I’m saying, so whenever we get Medicare for All through it’ll be made by some competent people and not claude or fable or whatever the next hot AI slop generator is.

I beg for you to reinterpret my comment my guy. I don’t really want to explain it to you, but to put it shortly: you got the wrong message from it

I hope this doesn’t mean USDS shuts down. I wanted to apply there assuming it would return back to its software development roots.

Ah, so I guess I shouldn’t take it as “Valve is a good actor” at all? That’s just the wrong interpretation or something? Valve is not an actor. It cannot be a good one. For profit corporations are, by definition, not aiming for net positivity.
Tacos are not actors. No one says “I love tacos” because they witnessed tacos acting in a behavior they deemed ‘good’. They say “I love tacos” because it gives them satisfaction when they eat them. No one says “I love Meta” in the same way people say “I love Tacos” because they think Facebook is a good actor for doing some open source stuff. No one says “I love Meta” because “I love Meta” is “just a phrase” as you put it. That makes no sense.

You said “Fuck yeah, love you Valve.” Loving a corporation is weird. Loving the actions is less-so.

AI was already doing good before ChatGPT and LLMs like folding proteins which shaped human history. I am really drilling down on LLMs and the sell to CEOs that generative AI can replace employees or that it is worth transforming the economy over. It’s not. Computers had a dotcom bubble which made computers useful by creating the infrastructure for engineers to be produced by universities and companies to use the networking tech. Its not like video games were keeping computers alive. See: Nvidia before bitcoin and ai made them the most valuable company ever
LLMs wont be making anyones lives better any time soon. AI already did things for humanity before them. Computer neural networks existed before AI. It was called machine learning. Member the ML days before tech bros called it AI? I do.

Computers make money. Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc all proved that. They can sell you products that people felt like did things for them. It didn’t make infinite money.
How much money does ChatGPT make? How much money does Grok make? How much money does Copilot make? How much money does Claude make? LLMs and generative AI don’t make money. If they did, AI CEOs would be boasting about the massive profits coming in from AI.
What are the results though? Results are what matter, not intentions
If he pardons them there is nothing anyone can do… legally

I will not ignore the cat.
Whenever a leftist talks about technofascism and technofeudalism, this is that.
Ignore them and let big brother watch you, citizen. Being adversarial to the safety that monitoring provides would be far too political for your centrist, apolotical heart. Just accept that this is the price of safety and work hard and have kids. Take the blue pill.
Or you can take the red pill, and free your mind.
The national guard doesnt have a mission to defend defecting cities. The state has a military. The city has a police force. Whatever stuff is happening in a defecting city would be met with violent demands ofc. Depending on the president, the national guard gets nationalized. The governor declares a state of emergency obv. Troops flow in via the highway system that leads directly to the city. As Hitler and Eisenhower envisioned government response to civil disobedience.
