I took it as a given that Trump get a third term on November 5th, 2024. I’ve been saying that this was the case for so long, and only now is it really sinking in with people. That election was game over for American liberalism; the Democrats blew it and now they aren’t even pretending like they can fix things

It’s because Trump is ideologically opposed to backing up any allies unless they’re punching someone he dislikes more. If Israel wasn’t genociding brown people or if the gulf states didn’t vibe so much with his type of capitalism, he wouldn’t give a shit about them. If he can’t bully you or bully others with you, you’re worthless to him.

Then viewing those people poorly was justified all along.

Nah, he’s a coward who will be too scared of the ruling class for bold action. Trump gets away with bullshit because he has an unbeatable cult of personality, but the oligarchs have never liked him and have always wanted to replace him with someone weaker. Unfortunately for them, he’s intentionally set up all his underlings to fail, with charisma blackhole nobodies all throughout the entire line of succession.

Their movement is designed to die with Trump; it’s the will of the rich and of the man himself. Why do you think they’re so intent on keeping the Democratic party out of the left’s control?
