Tekinukly. Software might still come with a license, but that license has no teeth without some form of DRM. This is a stupid way to try justifying the DRM steam has. In all practicality, you own whats downloaded to your drives without DRM.

I have never seen anyone back that claim up, despite it being a very popular one to make. People like to pretend they own their steam games but until that gets enforced by law; you don’t.

In my experience, the consumers are stupid every time. Just being a customer cripples 90% of people’s critical thinking abilities. Even myself, walk into a store I haven’t been in and I am a complete and utter fool. The customer is always an idiot.
There seems to be this notion that if steam would go away, they would grant us DRM free downloads of all our games. I have heard that multiple times through the years. Seems like hopeful nonsense that justifies a lack of ownership through steam. If ya’ll want to own your games, that contingency has to become concrete law.

Makes me think of all those sleepy and dazed hours spent in a classroom.

You have misread the room lol, I don’t think you are likely to find many users here.

Yeah, I only tried what I assume was the snap version, and then APT which I suspect redirects to installing the snap version (maybe not though since this is mint and not direct ubuntu?) In any case I have a few more tendencies towards LMDE which will probably make me end up there eventually.

Cant get VLC working properly on my linux and I miss having it. Ive been thinking about switching to LMDE because of it.
Most people with home gardens have so much produce that they can’t even give it away lol. I grew tomatoes last year and it was all I could do to keep up with three plants in the late summer.
Gamers who speedrun NES games briefly poke their head out of the cave, see that life is more than shadows on a cave wall, reject that reality and return to the task at hand.
Maybe it is better expressed as degree of control you have over the data on your drive, disk, whatever. When you choose to buy a game from steam, especially if it is on a website like GOG, you are choosing to have less control over your data. With large companies like Sony moving towards anti-consumer practices, it isn’t wise to believe that valve would never do the same.
