  • It’s not that customers are stupid it’s that customers are ultimately at times powerless. Certain things are forced upon by monopolistic tendencies. I believe full well there are still millions of PC players who would love to have boxed disc releases. But no stores in major markets carry any. No major publisher produces them. It was just agreed upon across industry to cut it off. Now look, you want to play on PC it has to be digital.

And I know people are going to say “but but but it’s about digital rights not discs “ and there is some truth to that. Until every major company agrees to do the same horrible thing. And you have no competition to go to. You either deal with it or stop buying into the hobby all together.

And maybe if we all stoped buying new games … but we all know how unlikely any of that is to happen.

  • For me I’ll only build a machine to game with. I’m not into video editing and I don’t run any home servers. For anything else I’d just happily keep using m2 Mac Mini.

Benchmarks only get so much value for me. It scored 2490 Thorbles you say? Oh that’s wonderful ! What’s a Thorble ??

For me it’s more helpful with human experience. How does it work daily ? How is it with games stability wise ? Brands matter little bit as the setup between them can be different.

In the past historically I’ve been let down by AMD processors so I for personal reasons shy away.

I’m hoping to spend under 2500 dollars if I can help it. Reusing components where I can.

I mean technically there is nothing wrong with my existing machine. It works great just staring to fall behind. Would need a new motherboard no matter what I did so I minus well price this out / consider this a near new build.

  • Mate this wonderful!

This is what I needed. I was wondering my current rig has 32 gb of ddr4 (two sticks of 16) higher speed.

Was wondering maybe it’s worth it to salvage that and try to save some costs as well.

Just wondering with the price I’m paying to upgrade is it worth whatever bottleneck that presents ?

I was looking at 13 - 14 gen but I remember the issues when they first launched. I wasn’t sure they were resolved.

  • I won’t lie despite the game having a wonderful world and amazing characters I didn’t LOVE actually playing it. The RTS part of the game I found very very frustrating. For me it was A LOT of trial and error. You have to treat the combat in the “missions” like an RTS. Build up your units and go after their “buildings”

For combat it self you can fight random things in the world which should help you nail down the rolling combat. I played on X360 back in the day so I don’t know how the experience is on PC.

This wasn’t by chance at all inspired by the Guess the game posts was it ?

  • The reality especially on here is you will run into three camps.

The people who already own a switch 2 (and mostly love it)

the people who don’t own one and won’t and think it’s absolute garbage

And those switch one owners who didn’t buy one but I generally see they didn’t like the switch 1 they bought.

If you loved what the switch did then an upgrade to a Switch 2 to me makes a lot of sense. Games like StarFox at least visually show what a huge leap the newer SOC can offer. And more games will be released over the next 7 or so years. Not to mention your old library of switch games generally runs a lot better.

If you’ve never owned a switch then it’s going to me to depend on what your looking for. If you want a PC or the freedom of a Pc then just get the PC. But be aware of the learning curve and upfront expenses. And yes that includes Steam Decks.

If you want a native Nintendo experience running any recent Nintendo software and want an easy to use hardware that’s generally less expensive then it’s comparables then I still think the Switch 2 is a good option.

Personally I love my Switch 2, coming from a Switch 1 it was a nice upgrade. I also game on PC but enjoy having a simple setup and native Nintendo experience. I’ve never been much of an accessories buyer. I primarily play with my Switch 1 pro controller.
