I didn’t get my first tattoo until my late 20s, but still… Now I think it’s weird if someone doesn’t have a tattoo
I don’t have any tattoos, but that’s mostly because I can never justify the cost, always feel like I have better things to do with a couple hundred dollars.
I don’t object to tattoos in principle, but I know that I’m impulsive, so whenever I get an idea for a tattoo, I wait six months, and will only get it inked if I still want it then. So far, that has meant that I’m tattoo-free, though I still have a couple ideas that are in the 6-month incubation period. I think those might actually get realized. It helps that a cousin’s son is an award-winning tattoo artist.
I have three adult offspring, in their 20s and 30s. Only the youngest has tattoos, and not many.
My dad was covered in tats. My mom has a few. It was a totally normal thing my entire life. My siblings have some. Aunts, uncles.
I don’t have any tattoos because I can’t think of a single solitary thing that I want on my skin permanently.
I feel this. I got one tattoo when I was young and thought I had disposable income. I’ve wanted plenty more, but I can never justify the expense.
