Putin doesn’t want peace, so there’s nothing to start. And the Europeans also know that, even if they started talks with Putin, if Trump’s not involved, he’ll swoop in at the last minute and fuck everything up. So there’s no urgency.

I’m a senior IT person and not only am I in a union, but the union actually does worthwhile things for its membership. I’m not in the US, though.

Professional certification bodies work best in industries with slow pace of change, e.g., civil engineering. In IT it’s an obstacle. We’d all be taking exams on COBOL or CORBA, and that would be just more unaccountable gatekeeping.
