I don’t mean THAT much ai.

I don’t know if you’ve played much NMS over the years, but there’s a story and missions that are already written and fleshed out well enough. You can leave all that be. I’m not even speaking of NPCs doing new missions or fetch quests in it.

But when you go to a base in space or on planet, every NPC says the exact same thing in the same way to offer the exact same things up. In space they all offer up the same three options in the same way. The Pokemon style fights are the exact same with the same opponent play styles. Every shopkeeper in every galaxy says the same thing.

All of THAT is what would be nice to have colored up a bit with some ai. No plot points or fetch quests or story lines. Just give them something unique when you interact with any.
