    “Vote blue no matter who!”

People are voting for blue candidates who promise to do good things and not do bad things.

“Over my dead body they are!”

There’s always a part of that phrase that gets left out

“Vote blue no matter who…. during the general election

Prior to that. Primary the hell out of anyone that isn’t progressive. Change the party from the bottom up. And guess what, you’re starting to see that actually happen and it scares the establishment. Let’s keep it going.

So tired of the constant gaslighting from both the centrists and fascists. I get downvoted into hell for mentioning that AOCs creds are questionable if she’s trying to wheel and deal with Hakeem Jeffries.

Bill Clinton named an airport after Ronald Reagan, the guy who fired something like 10,000 FAA air traffic controllers for wanting to strike.

Biden told the rail road engineers who were almost literally begging to be treated like human beings they couldn’t strike, here’s more money you don’t have any time to spend, and kiss my ass because “I am the pro-union” president. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_United_States_railroad_labor_dispute

Newsom pushed through a age verification law. How can that work unless it is a national login page? Reddit, imgur, lemmy/piefed, and pretty much everything else would require a digital bouncer at the door because none of this is designed to keep a tiny fraction of the countries total population from being psychologically scared like all the rest of us have been.

Establishment Democrats have been enabling the Republicans for decades.

The problem is they try to negotiate with fascists, extend the olive branch and create a “big tent.” They use scare tactics because leftist candidates are “too far left” and they want to woo ancient voters who will be dead in 10 years to leave us with a dystopian future.

Don’t try to reason with fools. They’ll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Another factor is that politicians aren’t in the positions they have attained through entirely altruistic means. From my observations, when people achieve some larger amount of means, they trend towards being conservative to varying degrees of their accumulated wealth and status.

A measurable amount of the older generation don’t want to give up anything, perhaps even being aware they have much more then they actually need. Or perhaps not, I don’t know. A more socialist government means giving up portions of their wealth for things that have no benefit to them (eg schools for children) and or they assume it is all just a ruse to cheat them? Again, I don’t know.

I wish they would realize in the face of death, wealth means nothing. However, one can live in a better world overall, when they realize a rising tide raises all sails. The inevitably of capitalism, at least on the path it’s currently on, will spell disaster for the majority of people.

It is definitely hard to find people with integrity. But with people like Mamdani turning down a pay raise, or the former president of Uruguay only accepting a pittance and living in poverty, it gives me hope there are people out there in the world with principles. There just needs to be more. A “public servant” should be exactly that. They only serve the public interest, not to line their pockets.
