Three years is far too short for the daughter of a Nazi, who takes her father’s hatred to heart.

Fascism must be eradicated from the EU, and that must be done by properly addressing big corporations and their authoritarian CEOs. Only then will free speech prevail.

Daughter of a self admitted torture on top of a Nazi and you are right, she very much comes after her (thankfully) late father.

The lower court had sentenced her to four years in prison, including two suspended and the other two to be served at home with an electronic tag, a €100,000 fine, and a five-year ban on holding elected office.

“served at home” doesn’t quite have the same impact … then again, why should tax payers pay for her prison cell, prison food etc. when she can afford to stay at home without working?

Headline makes it sound Le Pen got the election ban but two other people received those. She can still run for president as per the article.

Because she in fact received election ban, her appeal doesn’t reset the clock.

Marine Le Pen has already served the non-suspended segment of the 45-month ban on holding elected office handed to her by the appeals court. Because the initial ban was effective even during her appeal, she has been serving it since March 31, 2025, the day of her conviction by a lower court. That was precisely 15 months ago.

I don’t really care. I just find it a bit ridiculous to punish her with an election ban that ends before the next election she would run in.

She did not miss any election, no. Thats a shame really. But hey, now we get to see if she runs for presidency against her own terms, as she said that she would not campaign if she is assigned an electronic tag (which she did).
