I genuinely think things will devolve to the point that Americans using political violence against the establishment democrats is the only path forward. It’s fucked up. But I feel like it’s the only way America doesn’t devolve into a nation ending civil war. Actually. Cuz looking from the outside I don’t see the outcomes of any of your elections moving the needle anymore.

Voting out republicans doesn’t solve the problem of establishment democrats preventing newly elected democrats from fixing anything.

edit: Hopefully I’m wrong. But this is what I believe will happen.

I don’t know that violence is entirely necessary, but working toward the DSA becoming its own thing and letting the Establishment Dems crash in to the hard reality that nobody supported them in the first place, they just disapproved of them less than the absolute mayhem on the right should probably happen.

Upvoted; but please understand, I’m not describing what I want to happen. I’m applying my weapons grade autistic pattern recognition to my background in attending and paying attention to history classes.

The Republicans and Democrats are the sword and shield of the wealthy elites respectively.

I agree with you, it’s not necessary. But I’m warning you that it’s inevitable. Those are not mutually exclusive!

Obviously not everyone is going to agree with me on this. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I don’t think anyone should rule it out, I just don’t think the death blow to the elites is going to come from partisan politics anyway. I think we’re past the tipping point where the system as built can be salvaged.

That’s beyond the scope of what I’m saying. I only mentioned wealthy elites to illustrate the role establishment dems play in subverting progress.

MMW USA will either play an integral role in the global working class uprising, or no longer exist in it’s current form by that time.

The only way the dsa will ever have any actual power is if they tea party the democratic party. Remaining a third party will in most districts in the US just make them a spoiler that gets republicans elected.

This is the answer. If people want change, they need to get active and primary democrats with the candidates they want.

Wishcasting some kind of third party into existence is naive and the outcome is we get more Republicans in power and life gets remarkably shittier as a consequence.

If we somehow get ranked choice voting, it’d be different. But right now there is only 2 viable choices in the general. Do what you can for the primary and hopefully you feel better about voting in the general. Sitting out or voting third party is just helping conservatives and their agenda being waged on America.

I specifically didn’t say their own party. Although there’s something to be said for fighting for a 3 party system, it’s simply not practical given the structure of the constitution. The only way to have an effective 3+ party system is starting over from scratch. The USA would not survive such a ground-up overhaul.

Yeah, I dont think reforming the Dems is possible anymore. I had hopes but it increasingly just seems like me huffing hopium. Dems wont charge your family for the bullet for your execution, but they will still pull the trigger when their klpetocrat rulers tell them to-- same as the GOP. Some would say that lesser evil is the best we can hope for, I think we should all disagree and have a real government.

Dem Centrist leaders will cheer you on, then knife you in the back when you’re fighting, then when you have finally got the republicans vlying anquished on the floor, the dems will lift them back up and forgive everything they did. Centrists are as much your enemy as your friend. Its literally in their name, “centrist”.

Which is exactly my point fyi. If establishment democrats continue to undermine the democratic will of their voters than inevitably their voters will turn to extra-democratic solutions.

Call it what you will. Says more about you than it does me.

Americans don’t get to gripe non-Americans wishing acceleration on them. Full stop.

It’s a Murc’s Law paradise in some of these threads. It’s beyond ridiculous.

If I wanted to get that kind of opinion, it’s all over the place in every corner of the “liberal media” and the extremely right wing media.

I think they were saying that it will take both. So it’s a bit of a both sides argument, but really it’s an accelerationist or total collapse argument if you really follow through on those actions.

Anyone that doesn’t actively advocate voting for the most progressive candidate in every primary and then preventing republicans from gaining power at any cost in the general is an accelerationist.
