I sure hope so. My wish is that they curtail presidential powers to an almost ceremonial level. No immunity, no pardons, no executive orders. While in office and direct or indirect income other than the presidential salary should be relinquished and full public availability of tax and business records will be a requirement.

I think that no government worker should be making anymore money than the minimum wage. Watch the minimum wage suddenly become liveable then.

No elected government worker… I’m not down with bridge and safety inspectors or air traffic controllers making minimum wage, no matter how “just” it seems - for a millisecond. Let the judges and elected officials have the minimum wage - WTF, it’s not like they’re not already millionaires by the time they get into office.

Leaving the unelected out of it, won’t solve the problem.

It’ll just get latched onto by the right as the perfect solution to downsize the government even more as the average government workers quit to find better paying jobs. (AI be heavily pushed by the tech bros to fill in a ton of the clerical work slots that open up.) The American public will grumbe, sigh then resign themselves to the new reality as the pivot happens. The TV propagandists wil spin it into savings for the taxpayer and the government will throw a couple hundred bucks back to each family for a year or two to pacify them.

Then everything shuts down as the emboldened billinairs fund the political machine to suit them and their agandas - abd they’ll be barefaced about it like the public has never seen.

Secondly, do we miss that most politicians are millionaires by the time they get into office?

They, more than most, will be able to buy whatever services they need to run their politicial affaris and get all the cash they need fron the ultra wealthy…

It’s actually the elected that need to be the first people to be pinched by minimum wage incomes. Hard.
