Former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who is also the current Democratic Senate candidate for Ohio, found himself in hot water in a past campaign over his response to anti-trans attacks from Republicans, and now he appears to be taking a different approach.
Instead of trying to defend or explain his views on trans rights, Brown released an ad last week slamming Republicans for focusing on trans people at all, when there are so many bigger challenges facing the state.
I can’t help this situation in any way if I’m struggling because transphobes make it difficult for me to exist. Your pool of allies against Israel decreases because I’m too busy trying to survive.
There are other ways to protect and aid LGBTQ community members that are much more effective than voting for people who will throw you under the bus at a moments notice.
There’s a reason a lot of us trans people are moving to blue states. The Democrats aren’t trustworthy but staying in a red state is hell. It still makes a difference so spare the bullshit. Not voting is helping Republicans more than it’s helping trans people.
If someone is going to support genocide on Palestinians they will also support the genocide of trans people. The LGBTQ community especially cannot rely on the state to protect them and must build that within their communities (of which I am very involved locally to make happen) but I’m sure you understand this well.
Completely missed the point of what I said. There’s still a massive difference between the Republicans and Democrats. This isn’t about local communities. Don’t both sides this.
The difference is far less than you make it out to be.
The difference is infinitely more than you spend all your free time lying to say it is.
It’s funny because I don’t see people telling this to Republicans. It’s only people who are leftwing being told not to vote 🤔
Maybe because the rightwing has no moral compass beyond driving further destruction and chaos in the name of profits and the left ostensibly should be a counter balance to that.
Also I’m not saying don’t vote - you do you. I will not be voting for candidates who are promoting the same right wing bullshit that they claim to be falsely combating.
Also let’s dispense with the idea that the Democrats are leftwing. They are not. We have two rightwing factions in our country to vote for. One is out and about fascist. One is 5 degrees removed from the same. Liberals are not left. They are pro capital and thus are right wing.
Did you . . . did you really just tell a trans person with lived experience that they don’t know the political landscape they are physically having to move to escape? Someone paraquat your weed?
