Truly it is far harder to get into CompSci than it is to get into management. I am speaking as an IT Director. And I am not suggesting that everyone can do these things, the point is that people need to diversify their skills and do something that sets them apart from the typical profile. Notably, I keep seeing conversations about age discrimination in other threads and am convinced that it is in great part because many people don’t find ways to keep growing.
