House to leave early, punting Hegseth impeachment vote until after November elections

    Good, the post-Midterm Congress will be much more hostile toward Hegseth. I’d rather have THAT Congress voting on him.

      The Dems, should they win, would not take control of congress till Jan 2027. The GOP would probably force the vote before the end of the session, while GOP is still majority, and then howl ‘Witch Hunt’ if the Dems try to bring it back again.

      This, of course presumes the Dems don’t completely fuck this up, which historically, is what they seem best at.

      The only change in Congress after the midterms will be that there will be some lame ducks and some congresspeople that can make unpopular votes because they don’t fear their voters. The new Congress won’t be seated until January.
