The joke is that the US doesn’t help other countries. It does things to look good but genuinely helping a country build up, won’t happen, not unless there’s a military motive or a motive to still have proxy control and liquidating all those those who don’t commit.
Yep. This is the argument to make to Republicans. We pay for socialized healthcare for Israel. Ask them to explain why we can justify that while also making cuts to other international healthcare initiatives and denying healthcare to Americans.

You also pay a crapton of taxes for heathcare in your own country. More than a lot of countries with socialised healthcare, in fact. You just then have to also pay even more for health insurance so you can then need to pay out of pocket for the lifesaving healthcare you’ve already paid twice for.
