I started using it like 2 weeks ago, loving it so far! Thank you for doing this!

A Razer Gaming laptop with Ubuntu and an Nvidia GPU. Weirdest thing ever. Still a win for Linux.

Same boat, after that happened with 1 PC, I went all in: Ublue distros in 4 PCs, 1 Steam Deck (Steam OS), 2 servers running Proxmox VE.
~3 years now since the switch. Freaking loving it.

You know why, btw™
Ok, wow. Well, that kinda wraps it up for me. Fuck CLAs.
By at rest you mean not in transit or something like that?
Sorry but you’re screwed. Lemmy is filled with an Anti-AI army of users ready to downvote every post you’ll make.
2 options: tough it up, or gang up with other AI devs and create an AI friendly community for FOSS / selfhosted apps.
Personally, I don’t care if it was AI assisted. I only care if it’s good or not. And by “good” I mean a lot of things. Including but not limited to:
- Maintenance history
- Contributors
- Performance
- Code quality / readability
- Documentation
- Dependancies
- Security
- Privacy
- UX/UI
- and more
It gets out of the way and let’s me do my thing. Wether it’s work or gaming.
Both Aurora on my laptop and Bazzite on my desktops, have been easier to use and maintain than Windows and OSX.
No ads, no nagging, no maintenance. The included gui and cli app stores give me everything I need. I freaking love it, it’s pure bliss. Best computing experience I ever had.
~3 years running Ublue distros. 100% happyness.
I faintly remember they had some paywalled features or something like that. Is that true?
Good to know. it’s very tempting. It has every feature we need, and it integrates to every other relevant app I selfhost.
Do you keep a backup? How do you do it?
Yeah, not too bad, but not exactly great either. Do they backport fixes? Do they maintain something like an LTS release?
https://github.com/immich-app/immich/releases/tag/v3.0.0
is V3 not stable? Are they back porting security fixes to V2?

Subticks, I thought that was a good thing… how so? I’m too bad to notice.

My kids are 5 & 8, can’t wait for it to happen! 🤣 We are playing Lego Worlds, Minecraft, Palworld and the like. I’m thirsting for CS with my boys! Chances are they’ll lay waste on me but who cares, I’ve always sucked anyways hahaha.
