yes more indiscriminate murder and destruction in the world will surely improve things, definitely 👍

It’s not contradictory/inconsistent at all, you just aren’t looking at it through the right lens. Wearing your mask during covid did not protect you, it protected others around you from your spittle. This idea is entirely foreign to them, the idea of caring about what happens to other people.
Masks worn for anonymity while being a racist piece of shit, on the other hand, directly protect the wearer by allowing them to escape the consequences of being identified. This concept of saving one’s own ass, and nobody else’s, does resonate very strongly with them.
When you view it through the lens of being a selfish asshole, it’s very coherent and consistent.

it was the best gif I had to convey the mix of sheer horror and disgust I felt reading that headline, and I still don’t think it conveys enough of it.

since when do LLMs care about what is true or not? I must’ve missed that, we fixed the hallucination problem?
also, rest assured, Grok has almost certainly been tweaked to say “whoever’s on the Republican ticket”, and probably most other big AI companies in the US who benefit from this administration will do the same, just less ham-fistedly and more subtly than Musk will. If flagship LLMs in general were to start giving ringing endorsements of leftists, I have zero doubt in my mind that would not be allowed to continue, not under the current regime.

If there were anyone who needed to hire a PR firm to handle all of their public-facing communications, Tim Sweeney is it, because every time I read a news article that starts “Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney Says…”, it is always (from my memory, at least) the dumbest and/or most infuriating bullshit you’ve ever heard from someone who is, notionally, supposed to sell customers on their products or services.

don’t forget, while they’re giving us the runaround on the Epstein files and protecting all the people therein, there is also almost certainly a new Epstein providing the same services to the same people. Not only do we get to pay taxes to pedophiles, they still get to rape children while they lie to our faces about it! Yaaaaay!

I, for one, would be in favor of selling physical PC games on flash drives. Like, flash drives are (were? not sure how bad the chip shortage has hit them, if at all) dirt cheap, and even the biggest games today generally don’t go far beyond 128GB (not counting post-launch patches), and I can find 128GB flash drives retailing for $10 right now at Micro Center. I assume a big enough publisher buying in bulk could get them far cheaper and more price optimized for this specific use case, and 256GB drives for even larger games for not much more. It would be more expensive than discs or cards, true; but not every PC has a disc drive or SD card reader, every PC these days has USB ports and most of them have USB 3.0 now. And still being smaller and more durable than a disc the same way cards are, could save on packaging costs if they optimized the packaging for it.
I also feel that people buying physical PC games are usually enthusiasts willing to pay a premium, anyhow, and giving them a reasonably nice flash drive with the game on it would feel more “substantial” than just getting a card or disc in a plastic case.

finally, someone else that hates Papa Johns sauce. Their garlic dip is on point from what I remember, but Jesus fuck their tomato sauce ruins everything it touches. Tomato sauce should be many things on pizza – savory, salty, maybe slightly spiced, hell even just fucking bland and flavorless would be an improvement but not fucking sweet.

Highly recommend FitGirl’s repacks, which is listed there. I don’t pirate many games these days, but when I do, her releases have always been clean and working for me, even running her installers under Proton on Linux worked without a hitch (for Sims 4, I think? was probably the last game I said “no I’m not fucking paying that”).
