Google is a publicly traded company and I’m sure it doesn’t need to be said here but the incentives do not allow them to be any thing but a for profit operation.

They are not your friend. They are not moral or immoral. They might do things that you agree with but that is only tangential. They don’t support you or your political leanings. They don’t have political leanings even though they might pretend to. If they do support your cause it’s only to garner goodwill in the hopes of increasing earnings. They would change ‘their’ mind tomorrow if that made the stock go up a single cent.

Like marathons there is an entire population of people who ‘cheat’ in something that has no real consequence except to talk themselves up.

They record video what happens or who uses it after the fact is something else entirely.

The uneducated don’t actually care the reasons. The only reason they are upset is that they see things directly affecting them.

My first thought was “what is a private equity firm” really and does the law have provisions for firms that are owned by private equity.

The Republican electorate doesn’t care about hypocrisy. Social Media is heavily siloed such that no one with right leaning sympathy will see that reply. The reply will be under 500 others. The initial tweet will be someone’s feed who will see it, absorb it and continue on. That’s how this works, that’s who it is for.

The same thing is true here. We only see this gotcha because someone posted it and this image will never be seen on truth social or whatever.

I’m not sure it was a mistake. Netflix but games is a pretty compelling offer but the industry has just constantly mistepped over and over with jumping the gun on ending disk based sales and it has poisoned the well a little bit on digital offerings.

Plus the game industry constantly makes ridiculous projections they fail to meet. MS was always going to have to burn money for years to get this off the ground if they even manage it.
