Honestly it seems like investigating it now would be wasteful.
it’s just harder to reinvestigate when the government won’t move heaven and earth to protect (and pardon) the perpetrators.
Better to wait for a less corrupt legal infrastructure in a few years (or even after midterms).
They’ll probably appeal and do bullshit to negotiate it down and defer the payment.
