A: it’s one sentence, I read it multiple times.
B: yes, that is what you said. Whether or not you understand the ideas you’re talking about is a different thing from what you said. Yes, it is refusing to acknowledge the systemic failures of a fundamentally imperialistic and capitalistic system when you attribute its typical behaviour to simply mistakes made by those who participate in its elections. Nobody who is going to genuinely challenge this system is going to be in those positions, let alone achieve the level of impact necessary to avoid policies like these (that passes with a minority vote anyway).

Right, so I’m correct in saying that many of you have apparently known this whole time, and yet only talk about it when it effects you. I’m saying that people in this community are cowardly and uncritical. Fear of criticizing something due to the most minute consequences of people on the internet getting mad at you is not something I find relatable or acceptable when so much of the fascism we are currently dealing with has been facilitated through online culture.

You’re saying you think it’s good to not criticize something morally wrong for fear of losing internet points?

“This is because of individuals and their moral impurity, never the system.” yup, that’s a Euro.

I mean, it would also be insane to take someone’s license away for actually using their phone at this point too. Newer cars have actual touchscreen tablet interfaces that requires the driver to look away from the road; sometimes even to see basic information like their current speed. Plus, there’s all these dickbags on the road in pickups or other light trucks (with or without those iPad screens) that are purposefully designed primarily to exude masculinity, not be safe vehicles to drive.
At this point, I don’t know how we argue that the phone thing is dangerous without the allowance of all that other shit contradicting that reasoning. Even worse, the existence of these infotainment systems in the cars themselves has probably resulted in charges laid against poorer people who drive older vehicles disproportionately while Keith is on his way to work at the landlord factory and watching Madagascar 3 on his speedometer.

You should probably read the article that talks about what its done because of that notion.

Yeah, you seem like the kind of person who could handle them. Have fun with the surveillance.

Yes, there it is. Have fun with the surveillance state.

The many times people in this community flipped shit when I said the EU was imperialistic and favourable to authoritarian politics. Now that there is an obvious example of how that looks, apparently many of you have known this the whole time. Just pointing out the humour in that, Euros are horribly uncritical of their way of life generally.

Oh, are you guys finally ready to talk about why the EU is bad? Now that it has effected you personally?
Edit: Looks like y’all still aren’t ready for it.
I’m honestly disappointed by how common memes that express a level of disappointment or despair about aging still are even after the insane shit from the past decade. I know this isn’t an extreme example, but I’ll see zoomers make memes about feeling unc by 25 and it’s so sad.
