It’s a compromise.
It supports modern hardware well enough and the environment is good enough.
I do like the cleaned up state of BSD better, but the missing hardware support is pretty much killing that.

Also, all the machines I’m developing for and controlling are running some kind of RT Linux.
So I don’t have that much friction between systems.

Es ist ein großer Unterschied, ob ich ne Firma mit gestohlenen Material aufbaue oder nen Film zu Hause schau bzw ein Lied anhöre, den/das ich sonst nicht bekommen könnte, wegen bescheuerter Regulierung nach Regionen oder ähnliches

I’m completely with you regarding ssh/scp
But I don’t know what you mean with mbuff (guess, memory buffer?)
Haven’t found anything with a quick search, but as I often need ssh/scp to work through customer VPNs, everything that makes that faster or more stable is a very welcomed thing :⁠-⁠)
