After the whole blunder with the new swappable battery law excluding all modern smartphones, I too am very skeptical.

Nah. They will slightly tweak the law last minute to only cover yellow microwaves.

At the same time, Ubuntu is so dumbed down thst certain things are impossible via the UI. I spent a whole day and 5 reinstalls to be able to install an encrypted OS next to another partition. This used to be trivial though the infstaller.
It takes a certain kind of personality to even become a billionaire. You don’t become a billionaire by being kind and ethical
Heck, if every billionaire did this many tax writeoffs to real charities, not their own personal foundations, maybe the world would be a better place.
