Thing was, he was so incredibly terrible at his corruption, that it was not only hilarious, he got caught and put into prison before he actually did anything too bad. So he actually got out by now.
Like, he was a parody of political corruption. One is still left to wonder if he was just running interference for all the other political corruption that was going on at the time.

Yeah, I can’t remember who it was that was screaming this over and over, but some right wing politician was freaking out saying “do you know how many New Yorkers are on Medicare?“ And all I could think was, “anyone who can’t afford their own,” because that’s what New York does. If you’re below a certain income level, and can’t afford your own insurance, New York State will cover you. I know this because that’s how I had health insurance when I lived in NYC. It’s awesome.

Certainly not the best reason, I’ll give you that. It certainly sounds like a bullshit reason. Other people have gotten me drunk, and I’ve certainly wouldn’t vote for them.
But she and I had a long conversation about a lot of things, and she was very clearly a highly intelligent person that I walked away from respecting quite a lot.
And I don’t know any random politician that I could say that about.
Of all the people on your ballot, could you say that about any of them?
Before she ever ran for office, I met her. I talked to her, and I got to know her. She was pretty great.
Maybe I don’t agree with every single one of her political positions, but I believe that she’s a real person that is gonna represent the best positions of the working person: ME, and people like me.
I’m gonna vote for her, because I’m convinced that she represents me and my needs and interests, and those of people like me. And so should you! And unless you can present evidence to the contrary, then shut the fuck up and vote for her, too!
