  • I have three degrees, none of them have focused at all on programming. I had one c++ programming class in uni.

In my experience, most of the IT stuff is easy-ish, if you start trying. Most people have some psychological barrier with anything looking like code. I’ll give you two examples.

My wife would refuse to fix small issues in our home lab, but once I explained, everything we have is backed up twice. And wiped homelab to assure her that we can’t fuck up by accidental edit, we’d have a way to restore it she started trying, and she is decent at it. She even started our paperless container on her own. I had to help a bit in configuring it, but a bit. Soon she maybe able to manage everything. On the other hand.

At work I have this junior, I’m training. First I had a json file, he got scared editing and would bug me everytime. Then I made a simple text file, variable_name space value. He was scared of that too. I finally made a csv that he would open in excel, then he felt comfortable. He refuses to even try 2 years in, because our job in not really technical and I’m not his boss.

TLDR: start trying with simple things, backup everything, you may fail a bit, but it’s not that hard to get started with basics.

  • I have talked to a mobile game Dev, a very drunker heart to heart. He had an India mobile game (like alto). He made about 120k in 5 years between two versions of the game. And then some tenent adjacent studio offered him 650k for the IP.

In his words “All I could think was that in 650k, my house would be paid. My education loan would be paid and I would still have enough money to ensure my kid goes to college and not worry about an education loan. I knew selling game would mean enshittification of my baby. But then i looked at my actual baby and I knew I had to betray the digital one”

That’s the first time I saw it from the dev point of view. He wanted to keep the project, but between choosing fans of his games that can’t keep a subreddit alive and doing right by no name, no face fan base vs 650k hard cash from a shitty studio that would concretely secure his family’s future. I am not sure if I would hold out.

I know it’s not the same with the studio Microsoft bought… But I can’t help but wonder people who sellout might not be such horrible pieces of shit that we imagine them to be.

  • I know what NEET exams are, I have spent some time in India. I know the importance of it as well and pressure students feel. I went back to my home country before completing high school. But My brother stayed behind and gave AIEEE in 2011, papers were leaked that year as well.

I think you guys have a marketing problem. Highlighting too much on paper leaks, while From what I gather from other comments, problem is the system, not one leak or even leaks in general. Because papers leak all the time in all countries, including my home country.

Criminals who do it should be caught and punished, and I haven’t seen any claims or evidence that education minister was complicit.

Anyway congratulations on having an incompetent minister out, but if your demand on reform of system is not made clear. There will be no meaningful change, just hydra changing heads. That’s why I’m saying it’s a marketing problem.

I have had this exact meme happens to me just yesterday.

Sexy time no, movie no. She went to bed and i turned on pc and she was looking at me exactly like this.

In her defense, she was looking at me like that because I wouldn’t have good sleep if I play more than 30-40 mins, and she would be worried I wouldn’t log off in time and won’t be able to sleep herself till I log off.
