Any chance of a bunch of used gpus getting sold off from this?
I get so tired of bikes being brought up every time a car is mentioned. They’re not at all an option for me or anyone who lives near me, and millions of others.

Look at what the rest of the world is doing. Keeping grandma from dying isn’t going to make a difference. You don’t have to keep it cold or even run it very often except those long heat waves. Unless you actually want grandma to die.
If we compare it to other places at the same latitude their temperatures aren’t unusual. Europe has had favorable winds, but wind patterns change. It’s almost like they need to get over themselves and install the hundred year old technology that is air conditioning.
Buy an AC unit, even a small one that cools one room is life.
Huh, maybe you’re thinking of different predictions. None of the ones I’m thinking of came true at all. We still have ice at the poles. Florida isn’t underwater. Not that the wind patterns aren’t shifting, and yes some places are a little hotter. But not so much hotter if you remove the adjustment they did to the historical data. Where I live, although it is hot this week, the temperatures aren’t abnormal and our last fifteen years have been below average temps.
Europe sucks ass and makes everything worse and more expensive. Now Google will have to show every human 3200 additional ads to make up for that money lost. And if anyone wants to tell me Europe doesn’t suck ass, tell me about the people you’re killing by banning AC and about how you can be locked up for certain types of speech or if you try to defend yourself against an attacker. I’ve lived there twice, never going back. Yes Europe likes Apple more than Google and they targeted them intentionally because they love collecting huge fines/revenue from things they are biased against. But ultimately they’re only making Google worse, not making anyone’s experiences better.
So they turned on coal. It is out of fashion purely because of political pressure. There’s still a ton of coal in the ground and many people don’t believe that carbon dioxide does anything but make plants grow faster. We’re talking about a gas that is .0004 in our atmosphere. The climate predictions are always wrong. The science is not settled, modern coal plants are very clean, and it is an affordable energy source.

Y’all really need to just pony up for some AC.
A friend of mine was a big crypto miner but he was kinda crazy. He died young and I helped his remote family process his estate. They let me take his computer equipment. I got a dozen tired GPUs but my dad has been running his 4k monitor on one of those old 1080tis for about six years now and it’s still doing its thing. No one has any info on his crypto accounts, all of that is just lost for now.
