What a terrible take. EGS itself is still missing so many features compared to Steam, and even though Valve is far from perfect, they are significantly less predatory than Epic.

I work in emergency services and have been with multiple agencies that utilize OSM due to its increased accuracy and often more up to date data.

In some of our software, it’s even one of the base map options and many of us prefer it (both standard OSM layer and the humanitarian layer).

I think I vaguely remember the launcher you’re talking about. I tried finding the name of it again and the closest I found to what I remember is Next Launcher 3D, some other sources had better screenshots but that link felt more comprehensive.

If not, could it be one of these? There’s some pretty funky ones in the list.

I took an HTML elective in high school, and I think a Flash elective as well (might’ve been the same class, it’s a long time ago). And I took one python class in university, but that was all basic python (v1 or v2, can’t remember, I just know it for sure wasn’t v3).

Other than that, I’m self taught on everything I host/do. My professional field is emergency response (I’ve bounced around every specialty except security/policing) so very little IT exposure in my day to day work life.
