I was trying to demonstrate a point, IF YOU DID THAT with PostmarketOS the battery would drain like crazy still. In normal use you would need to charge your phone twice a day. (or maybe even 3-4 times, depending on the specific device)

Not saying media does not have an effect on this, but people actually notice the effects of cultures clashing & this would have a potential impact on their vote even without Facebook riling them up.

I’m of the opinion that i’m largely fine with legal migration, as long as the migrants are willing to make an effort to blend in, but many are not. Are you okay with muslim families that come to Europe & want to continue their suppression of women just the same as before? If you were a young woman, would you feel safe walking around in Tower Hamlets, dressed like normal?

It’s not a nice thing to say, but very few people in Europe like Arab -or non Arab really- migrants that don’t want to conform to their society. Social media is definitely a supermassive problem, but it’s not the only one.

Ok so the only unique feature this “distro” has is the following:

Arch Linux, with teeth. FangOS ships with fang, a friendly frontend for pacman. Same Arch power underneath, more personality on top — including progress bars with actual teeth. It handles privilege escalation itself, so fang install just works. Add --aur and it reaches into the Arch User Repository through yay or paru, the same friendly way.

This is f. insane. Even for a fully agenetic production.

Any Linux distro that wants to function at all has to allow for ai written code, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to ship the Linux kernel or a browser and a great many other things.

The list of well supported phones is vanishingly small & what’s even worse is that it’s not really daily drivable on any device. The idle battery drain is immense with the modem on. Honestly I’m not even certain that without a proper relationship with the hardware vendors it’s possible to build something that doesn’t drain itself in 2 days of idling.

Jolla is a startup that is taking advantage of foss being free & are not really contributing back. All the innovations they made to actually make their Linux phone usable is lost to the community at large.

I think we need something similar to the Lenovo + Graphene collab. Mass produced phones sold at commodity prices with a usable Linux option.

That one is not fully open source. I understand why, but I don’t like it.

There are reliable and crap Chinese brands. This is not really relevant in this conversation. (plus manufacturing defects can go unnoticed with any brand) It’s merely a data point of one.
