I’m a linux user myself, but can’t see ARM doing anything particularly well in a laptop in the near future, at least outside of the Apple cult. Even S76’s high power ARM desktop looks (to me) extremely limiting versus a comparable AMD machine.

Yeah market fluctuation regularly explains prices more than quintupling while supply vaporizes overnight. The fuck are you smoking?

Frankly shocked to see you say that. You either have a very specific job or are a particularly interesting weirdo. What would be your use case?

In my experience, updates that break boot are up 250% since 7, and their “roll back” for “Feature” and “quality” upgrades fails 85% of the time, “Sorry we weren’t able to uninstall…”
Not to mention that they’ve disabled the default registry backup since 10. Go ahead- check the “regback” folder. There’s nothing in it. Don’t even get me started on auto-bitlockering.
Odd how we have such different experiences the last 10 years.

If a “lite” version removed their ability to spy on you they’d have to charge you $4,000/year for the privilege, just to make up the difference.

Does your enterprise have requirements about your personal devices? I’d argue they don’t.

15-20 years ago I’d regularly find Windows 7 PCs that had stuffed boot drives using the \Windows\Temp folder with corrupt or “could not install, retried” updates. They’ve improved nothing in all that time. The only thing they’ve “improved” is the UI, which is at best debatable. I think most people would now be absolutely thrilled to go back to 7’s user interface today.
Using Windows at this point is a sign of someone too lazy to try something new, glued to a game run by assholes that won’t check a box on their end to allow their anti-cheat to function elsewhere, or completely comfortable in the Windows
ecosystemprison system.
I picked this up a week or two ago on sale and really enjoyed it more than I expected to. The ship building and testing bit was the most rewarding, though the way the galaxy map works made me think there would be a lot more to it- the way you can zoom out suggested to me there was more content than there actually was, but yeah- 8/10 I enjoyed it enough to search online the last few details I needed to get the “good ending”.
By the time the older, largely conservo-facist crowd dies off and the country survives another decade, we need to remember this sentiment and act on it.
People currently in your 30s+40s, I’m looking at you.

Nothing trustworthy or particularly credible. There’s a simpler way.
We’re going to need to agree to de-mask these people publicly, manually.
Nobody’s going to post it? Really? It was my understanding doing so in a conversation like this one was mandatory.

Sorry. I’m a child. I’ll see myself out.
You ever get the feeling someone is testing your sanity?
