Issue 1 I’ve had something similar and it was due to the “enable gpu accellerared rendering in web views” setting (under Interface). But my steam didn’t crash just the ui wouldn’t show.

About the immortality hack, I saw a skit where Light gave the businessman kira a misspelling of his own name and told him to write it four times. Light is now free from the death note’s influence since the other kira did not purposely misspell it.
