  • Blame Kentucky, those fucks are the ones who kept that shit again office for a century or two.

Not disagreeing that we need term limits, but McConnell is not the fault of Americans. I have my own congressmorons to be ashamed of, but I’m at least not required to be ashamed of him directly, since I have no hand in that assholes constant reelection.

  • You care more about institutional longevity than human suffering; you think democracy is regular elections not self governance.

I stopped right here because clearly you’re full of shit of you think not voting means you care about human suffering.

Voting is the bare minimum, and so many can’t even do that. Community organization and mutual self aid are fantastic ways of using your time the other 1459 days of an election cycle, but if you can’t be bothered to engage in voting and someone is elected that can destroy all the progress you made, you’re set back drastically rather than you would have been otherwise. You are intentionally picking paths that lead to suffering, and you do your best to not acknowledge the immediate consequences of your actions and try to play it off like the obvious result of your actions was inevitable, rather than something you helped set up.

Yeah, I will vote for the lesser evil, because I’m not an accelerationist who doesn’t care how many people are hurt in order to bring change. Justify it to yourself however you want, we don’t care how virtuous you are when we’re dying on the streets while you argue theory and feel smug about choices that objectively make millions of peoples’ lives worse.

Edit: and you still have provided no more proof of your initial assertion than whatever rhetoric you’re pulling from your ass.

  • Do you understand how many different Democrat administrations have funded various genocides, dictatorships, and hostile takeovers of self governing people

And what does that have to do with the results of a war that was started by trump and opposed by everyone who doesn’t support him? Why would the Democrats start a war against Iran? What actual evidence, out side of your feefees, do you have that this still would have happened?

If you ever wonder why people don’t take you seriously, this shit is why. Your argument might as well just be “BOTH SIDES BAD”, at least then wouldn’t be pretending to give a single shit about reality.

As it is, you’re effectively running cover for the republicans with this accelerationist bullshit, because if the democrats would have done it, it doesn’t matter that the republicans won. There are a LOT of arguments to make about how the democrats aren’t nearly left enough and don’t do enough for the people, try to find one instead of vomiting out this lazy and thoughtless argument that falls apart if you bother to think for 2 seconds.

  • Do you mean like in 2016 when people stayed home and trump won by the electoral college, or 2024 when even more people stayed home and he just barely won the popular vote too?

Or is there something other than ‘people actually need to vote strategically in the general or deal with the fascist winning’ that we need to learn here? Because they’re right - people were brainwashed and due to their (lack of) voting choice we let him have power again. Too many people chose to stay home instead of voting for the viable candidate who could have kept this shit show (that literally everyone saw coming) from happening.

Yeah, the candidate we had available didn’t get a primary and was less than ideal. But that choice would have been objectively better than what we have now. Too many thought getting less than nothing was better than that, so here we are. Instead of having a chance at influencing the government, we handed the reigns of justice to a fucking dictator wannabe.

Maybe the party will learn a different lesson from the left abandoning them other than the same lesson they’ve taken from it for the last 50 years. Clearly, this methodology is a working one…

  • If every single citizen of the united states who still has the right to vote casts a ballot for Kamala Harris, Palestine still burns, and Palantir still revolutionizes killing and incarcerating people elsewhere.

What about all those little girls who had their school bombed, would they be dead too? Would the various humanitarian aid ngos still be defunded, directly leading to unnecessary death?

What a lazy argument. Just because the obvious better candidate didn’t do everything you wanted, don’t vote for them, even if they do some things better. Since they’re not perfect, fuck them and let the fascist win. That’s literally accelerationism, you just don’t want to acknowledge the clear result of your position.
