Initial studies have found that AI generally helps either the top performers or the bottom performers of a job/profession. If it helps the top the most, it usually means that the person has to know enough on how to use the AI tools and correct known issues. If it helps the bottom the most, switch fields since it is likely that the AI is going to push your role into whomever is cheapest.

It is the difference between objectively bad and comparatively bad.

I use stable as a relative term, but it isn’t like the number of non-white people dying goes down during periods of instability.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony stops producing Blu-ray soon.
We have the technology for the next generation of discs that could support 8k. It just happens to be that no one wants to put money into creating the standard.
Sony may not want to deal with it anymore.

There’s always Microsoft and Nintendo.

The Concert of Europe kept the continent relatively peaceful for a century, mainly by ensuring that one nation didn’t become another Napoleonic France.
Post World War II was also relatively peaceful compared to the interwar years, mainly because of the two interventionist powers trying to compete with each other. There was a lot of genocide after World War I.

I look at the Steam Machine being a proof of concept device leading to third party development.
There is now a lot of interest in computer markers to make their own machine and Valve is more than happy if they do it at no cost to Valve.

Yeah, but we’re already at a point of subscription multiplayer, significant DLC, and major patching already. There may be a market still for discs, but physical rental is mostly dead.
We’re already at a point where the physical space to sell media in stores has shrunk substantially over the past decade. We just might be at a point where it is small enough to no longer be worth supporting it.

I understand the argument you’re making. What I’m saying is that those who care about your argument are likely in a tiny minority of current players as most would have already left the market by now due to other actions made by console companies.

I can see consumers being a lot more sensitive to prove increases than the removal of discs.

I don’t think the sales are going to be that affected. Hell, most of the people complaining probably were never going to buy a new console at all.

I don’t think it is a dark age. It is just that there isn’t anything worth to increase on the hardware side; we’ve hit the point of diminishing returns on performance.

Trucks. The only car Ford makes any more is the Mustang.
Is he? I thought he was waiting until August 1 to die.
