Detained is a polite way to say it.
Actually. It’s really quite rude. Rude to Ro Khanna. Rude to us. Rude to everyone who gives a damn about the truth. Rude and downright offensive.
The only people this is “polite” to are the settlers and genocidal maniacs.
I’m not sure what the point you’re trying to make. or the relevancy to my comment (or the post, even.) Did you mean to reply to me?
right?
most corporations assume if you no call / no show once, it’s a resignation. Sure most will also reach out to make sure you didn’t have a car accident or something, but if you just didn’t show up and ghosted them… “By Felicia.”
We absolutely need to make it a law for any elected office (Including state and local elected offices) that you must disclose anything necessitating an absence from your job for more than 3 days. Failure to disclose after 7 days should be considered an abdication of your post and the process for replacing you begun.
This seems far more generous than what almost any of our own employers would do for us. not saying they can’t take a few days, but they need to tell their constituents.
Obstruction of justice requires a physical, usually forceful, act. Like physically blocking cops from serving a warrant.
Simply being like “I didn’t do it” or whatever his statements were… is not obstruction.
None of that matters here. He’s unelectable. He can’t win. Doesn’t matter if he did, doesn’t matter if it’s fair. Trials can’t happen that quickly any way; and there’s plenty of other shit that he can’t power through.
(I do happen to believe the allegations. Maybe not fields… that’s a bit suspect… but the others.)
I can’t wait to find out how Bitch McConnell got his Herman Cain award
We should celebrate it!
You’re projecting. You want to see Platner lose by any means necessary
I’m not the one projecting here. The question was simply to prompt consideration of the worst case scenario.
I certainly don’t want Platner to lose “by any means necessary”- I do want to avoid the current problem we have with Fetterman and have had with Sinema- while being angry that these concerns haven’t as yet been taken seriously.
Well it’s clearly not very good, as you have little confidence it will succeed at trial.
I do?
You certainly read a lot into things I’m certainly not actually saying. Political elections are different from criminal trials, and abide by different rules, and operate on different time frames.
They also have different standards.
So.
Hypothetically.
If someone were to be unwilling to be a canidate, but the primary voters voted for them anyways… are they obligated to run? or maybe do they get to decide that?
The choice to run or not run is still Platner’s, not the voters.
Also hypothetically. What if he doesn’t step down and he is proven to be a rapist. would you be willing to override the will of the people and throw him in jail? or are you just going to admit you’re part of the problem?
Platner is the idiot who had these skeletons in his closet and thought they wouldn’t get dragged out. that alone should be disqualifying, nevermind the fact that there is good evidence (which you don’t like so wahhahaha crybaby cry!)
Well that’s progress, I guess
Is he dead yet?
Not really.
First off they are asking him to step down, which he should have done ages ago. For oh-so-many reasons.
Oh. he’s dead.
my fond AOL moment was the look on my grandma’s face when I explained why she couldn’t go to that one website she was told to go to by somebody in her church. the “What do you mean this isn’t the internet! I have EMAIL! I have the WEATHER. And the NEWS”…
(AOL was originally not actually an ISP, they were an online service provider that provided access to their own services/network.)
yup. the news media in particular refused to call anything like that what it was. Israeli attacks in gaza isn’t genocide. the invasion into Lebanon isn’t an invasion. Assassinations aren’t assassinations.
Same goes for trump. they sanewash literally everything he says to make him not seem like a racist, fuck-faced nazis getting cucked by Netanyahu and Puttin- at the same time.
It’s not just the news media, either. Democrats- particularly centrist dems- refuse to call genocide genocide, or even to simply recognize Palestinian-American’s right to protest (and equal protection from counter protesters. ACAB in full force there.)
to be fair, I didn’t realize AOL still existed…
I wonder if they’d send me a disk if I asked. I could use a frisbee.
Is…uh… bored panda a legitimate news source now? they probably stole it from MSN who stole from someone else.
we can no longer rely on implication and insinuation. The hesitancy to call a spade a spade is a large part of how we got here. People saying we can’t call trump a Nazis in 2016 dispute literally recycling Hitler’s own rhetoric is part of how we got here.
Depends on how close they are to the ocean. (Or which military service you’re talking to.)
