LOL. In fact, LMAO.
I saw comments elsewhere saying Kentucky only disallowed governor appointments within 90 days of an election. So, if he dies today, the governor, a Democrat, can appoint a replacement who will hold the office till whoever wins the November election replaces them beginning of next year. If he dies in 3 weeks, that’s disallowed and a (special?) election will decide his successor. Bear in mind that my “source” on this is: Some other people on the Fediverse said so.

Mt. Olive Pickles responded to an X thread about the situation, saying it was unaware a Confederate flag would be displayed at the state’s booth when it agreed to participate in the exhibit.
Quote from this news article. Looks like NC was unofficially represented by a booth run by an unspecified private group. Mt. Olive was part of that booth, but pulled out once the confederate flag at the same booth was reported to them. I couldn’t read the Xitter thread without an account so of course I didn’t, but it apparently has more details.
The role also required a high pain tolerance, as both he and his stunt double were dropped repeatedly while filming and had to stay limp to not ruin the take. I read Kiser ended up with 3 cracked ribs and some nerve issues that took a while to heal from his neck flopping around so much. He more than earned his paycheck.
